Good article in the Sept 27 Detroit Free Press on the problems some locals are having living near the Ubley, Mi. wind farm.
A few things stood out. The one member on the Michigan Wind Energy Resource Zone Board that was chosen to represent the public has been hired recently as VP of sales for a wind turbine firm! Sounds like that means no one is representing the public.
The article also mentioned that even if local communities decide that they don't want wind factories trashing their hillsides, there is still the threat that state government can step in and dictate standards statewide, like they did in Wisconsin.
